Georgetown's financial aid packages are on average roughly $3000 less generous than those of our peer institutions. Our goal: close the gap.

Seeking Solutions

The top reason cited by students whose first choice was Georgetown but who did not enroll is that they received a modestly more generous financial aid package from another school.

Five years ago, the Georgetown Scholarship Program was founded to raise funds to support more generous aid packages with larger grants and reduced loans. To date, recipients of these scholarships have accepted Georgetown's offer of admission at nearly twice the rate of students offered standard financial aid packages. The 1789 Scholarship Imperative seeks to build on this success by expanding the university's capacity to offer competitive scholarship packages.
